Arabergestüt

he Claestorp Stud is possibly the oldest Arabian stud in the world, in the ownership of the same person. It was started in Scotland in 1947 with the purchase of the Skowronek grandson SAHBAN, and moved in 1959 to Sweden following the owner´s marriage. The Crabbet-bred stallion KARIBA accompanied the family, and was joined one year later by FARISSLA (Count Orlando x Farissla). Farissla is the great great great grandmother of the filly POLYNESIA (by the BALATON - son POPEDITEL out of ZAMISHKA by KISMET), which we have on the stud.

 

The most influential stallions we have used have been ZAREEF (Shaker el Masri x Zbroja), KAPRON (Aswan x Carolina), BANAT (El Azrak X Bandola), and SHAHIN (Salaa el Dine x Ameera). SHAHIN was bred by Dr Nagel and came to Claestorp as a foal. He has since been exported to Kuwait, along with JADE PRINCESS (Jamil x The Egyptian Princess).

 

Our three brood-mares are SAJIDA (Ansata Ibn Jamila x Ione), SENSATION (Shahin x A:K Kastana) and KAHLUA (Kismet x Kapraslina). Our three fillies are SALALAH (El Ahhim Shah x Sajida), SERAFINA (Classic Shadwan x Sajida) and POLYNESIA. There is also a colt born this year by Salaa el Dine out of Sensation, thus almost full brother to the famous CRUSADER.

 

The Claestorp Stud is smaller now, but it is still probably the only Arabian Stud in the world owned and run by someone who has ridden in International Three Days Events!
